TCS looking for Tatent on Cloud - Skills will drive compensation in future
TCS (Tata Consultancy Services), India’s largest IT services firm, is looking for ‘talent on cloud’ . A vital part of its efforts to reimagine its human resources strategy is the focus on fungibility of talent.
The company is also looking at creating the algorithm-based talent marketplace and an internal gig workers’ community. That’s a massive exercise for a firm with close to 470,000 employees. This kind of model cannot be realised at scale with resume exchanges and people reaching out to each other analysing jobs and capabilities. So we have been building our next-gen career progression suite of platforms and processes - Milind Lakkad, chief human resources officer (CHRO) told in a press meet
- Skills will drive compensation
- Elevate program - linking learning with career
- Premium billing with skill reality
- Algorithm based talent marketplace & Talent development
- Internal gig workers
TCS moved completely to virtual hiring mode with more than 225,000 fresher & more than 130,000 lateral candidates were remotely interviewed.
More than 96% of the company’s 469,000 workforce is currently working remotely. The company is not in a rush to call people back to work and is being “very cautious”.TCS is also working on a “25x25 model”, under which at any point of time about 25% of the workforce will be needed in the office to be 100% productive. It will make a significant difference to the quality of life of the employee as well as benefit the company as being the biggest driver of “talent fungibility” with the barriers of physical locations having gone away.
